Will my dog enjoy a stay at Woolmers?
A good match for our home
- Dogs aged 12 months and over.
- Friendly with all people and other dogs, including different ages, sizes and breeds.
- Comfortable being handled, fully toilet trained and able to settle in a shared home.
- Up to date with vaccinations, flea and worming treatments.
A few important details
We cannot accept entire males, males with a castration implant only, or females in season. Dogs who repeatedly mark indoors, bark excessively, hump other dogs or try to escape may be unsuitable.
Dogs won’t mix with our child, but will be able to see and hear her. Please discuss nervousness, a high prey drive or additional care needs with us before arranging a trial.

Collections & bank holidays
Collection after 3pm on departure day adds £10 per dog, within our collection hours. Late collection after our 5pm closing time incurs £5 for every ten minutes. Please call if you cannot make your appointment.
Bank holidays carry a £10 surcharge per dog, per night, with arrivals and collections from 9–10am.
Christmas & New Year
Double nightly rates apply on 24, 25, 26 and 31 December. The last arrival or collection on 24 December is 11am. There are no arrivals or collections on 25 or 26 December; these resume at 9am on 27 December.
Securing your stay
A non-refundable £50 deposit secures each booking; separate bookings need separate deposits. The remaining balance is paid by card on departure, before your dog leaves. We are cashless.
If a stay is cut short, the full booked period remains payable. We will confirm your applicable rate and availability before booking.

How much paddock time will my dog have?
We take the dogs into our fully enclosed two-acre paddock four times a day, for 20 minutes each time. That’s four sessions of fresh air, off-lead exploring and play throughout the day.
How do I apply for my dog to stay?
Please complete our full new-client application form. We need all the requested details about your dog, behaviour, vaccination status, boarding plans and permissions to assess suitability. After reviewing your application, we can discuss the paid overnight trial. An application does not confirm a boarding place.
Where will my dog sleep?
In our home, with their own bed. There are duvets and comfy sofas to choose from, too. We also have separate areas if a dog needs quiet time or their own space.
What should I bring?
Enough of your dog’s usual food for the whole stay, any medication with clear instructions, and a hard copy of their vaccination record on every visit. Vaccinations and flea and worming treatments must be up to date. Kennel cough vaccination is recommended, rather than mandatory.
Why is there a paid overnight trial?
It helps us check that your dog is comfortable in our home and happy around the other guests. Every new dog needs a successful paid overnight trial before we can confirm future stays. Please enquire to arrange one and confirm the trial charge.
Can you give my dog their medication?
We can administer medication. Please discuss your dog’s needs with us beforehand and bring the medication with clear instructions on how and when it is given.
Do you offer day care or a collection service?
We offer overnight home boarding. We don’t provide day care or a home collection and drop-off service. Please bring and collect your dog at your agreed appointment times.
Will my dog ever be left alone?
Our boarding licence permits dogs to be left for up to three hours in a 24-hour period. Please tell us about any separation anxiety before arranging a trial so we can discuss suitability.
What happens if my dog needs a vet?
If your dog becomes ill or is injured, we will seek care from our registered vet, Watkins and Tasker in Yatton. Veterinary fees are the owner’s responsibility. We’ll also need an emergency contact who can act for you and care for your dog if needed.
Is there a deposit, and how do I pay?
Each booking requires a £50 non-refundable deposit. You’ll receive an invoice and pay the remaining balance using our card machine on departure, before your dog leaves. We are a cashless business.
